Let me introduce you to the crew - the wonderful Laszlo Baranyai ACS,HCS, DOP, my husband Michael Vale, Production Designer, Joel Valerie, Sound recordist, Rohan Jones, 1st AD, Stewart Thorn, camera/lighting assistant, and Josh Smith, production assistant, and me. Yes, thats right, a very small crew. We doubled and tripled up on just about everything, and we got there! They were truly remarkable and we have come up with something really special.
Now, some of the amazing cast!
The main role of Millicent is played by the talented, AFI winning Anni Finsterer, who wowed us with her stunning portrayal of a very complex character. Anni is by far one of Australia's most talented actors, and we were all blown away with her performance. Wait until you see it! It is by far one of the most beautiful and nuanced performances seen in this country. Now, you may think that I am biased, but, let me tell you, on set when crucial dramatic scenes were being filmed, everyone was whipped into silence, you could have heard a pin drop! Amazing.
In the role of Robyn, a ghost of the post punk '80's, is Clara Pagone. Clara was transformed into this brooding, vulnerable being with the aid of Geoff Seelander at Parlour Hairdressing who cut and coloured her hair into punk blonde . Clara brought to the screen this vulnerabillity that screams at you when you watch. Its very exciting.
And the title role? We have Si Francis, who plays in the band Wagons. A perfect fit.
We are now in post production, and saying that, I better get over to the editing suite, but I will post again and perhaps start at the very beginning of the story genesis.
