Just thought I'd drop in and say hi.
And perhaps ramble on a little bit about the waiting game that is festival submissions.
No one really knows about the best festival strategy. You just have to do it and hope that
selectors/scouts/curators/festival directors respond to your film.
So fingers crossed all you Johnny Ghost friends out there, let's hope our festival run starts soon!
So, what have I been doing to keep this anxiety of waiting at bay?
A couple of things -
This is a link to a side project that I have been doing -
it's an installation work and opened last Thursday at West Space gallery in Melbourne, Australia.
It's on for three weeks.
I have also been writing. I finish my PhD in February so the race is on to complete the exegesis.
At the moment I am writing a chapter on the ghosts of Hollywood. It's an interesting area to write about. When I first visited L.A. in November last year for a few days I found that the place was haunted by the past. As if a spectre was hovering over the city, conjuring all types of memories related to film. I'd be interested to see if any of you that live there feel the same way. Perhaps it's something that only relates to visitors.
Speaking of, I should go back to writing. It's so easy to get distracted.
Oh yes, this is my worst distraction and I'm out of them. Better go for a walk and replenish the stocks...
